Whether you’re looking to escape for a long weekend or want somewhere to stay for a lengthier holiday, Deniliquin is one of the great undiscovered NSW country towns. It’s the ideal retreat for both couples and families who want to escape the crowded cities and beaches, but still has plenty to do. Deni will appeal to those wanting a serene, relaxing stay as well as those who want something more athletic and adventurous.
If you love the great outdoors, then you’ll love the activities that Deniliquin has to offer, such as bush walking, cycling, golfing, and water sports. Nestled on the banks of the Edward River, Deni is great for water activities such as water skiing, canoeing or kayaking. Rich with river life, the Edward River is a fisherman’s dream; in fact, we think Deniliquin is one of the best spots for fishing NSW has to offer. Why not try your spot at fishing and see if you can hook a Murray Cod or Yellowbelly?
For the nature enthusiasts, our national parks won’t disappoint! Deniliquin is on the doorstep of some of the largest red gum forests in the southern hemisphere, and with natural treasures such as the Island Sanctuary, which is home to over 100 species of bird, wildlife and bird watching is a must.
Throw in some retail therapy and a visit to one of our wineries and Deni has something for everyone.
The kids will think our Ute on the Pole is a hoot and will love to have their photos taken with it! Even if you’re only driving through Deni, it’s worth stopping to take a look.
Deniliquin is rife with Australian cultural heritage and is an excellent destination to brush up on your Aussie history and to learn something new too.
Deniliquin is the perfect base from which to explore the Long Paddock Touring Route – a network of tracks and towns that were used by the stockmen of yesteryear. For those with limited time, the Long Paddock River Walk is a brief yet enjoyable way to discover the rich history of Australia’s stock route heritage.
Get the picture perfect wedding you’ve always wanted in Deniliquin’s beautifully natural surroundings. We have venues set on the banks of the river, out in the sweeping rural plains, and overlooking the vineyards of wineries like Clancy of Conargo Winery.
Deniliquin is also great for conferences and functions, with many of our local establishments offering conference and function facilities with that unique charm that only NSW country towns can provide. No wonder Deniliquin is one of the great undiscovered holiday destinations in NSW.
